Ronald J. Martens, Sr. of Irving, Texas August 7, 1941 – February 15, 2019 Ronald James Martens, 77, a long-time resident of Irving, died suddenly Friday, February 15, 2019 at Baylor, Scott, and White Medical Center in Irving. Born August 7, 1941 in Waukon, Iowa, he was the son of the late Edward T. Martens and Margot Evelyn Lorentson Martens. He served in the U S Air Force before marrying Carolyn Sue Hardin September 16, 1966.

He was a retired aircraft instrument repair technician and a member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church of Irving. Preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Sue Martens on January 2, 2015, he is survived by a son, Ronnie Martens of Irving; a daughter, Jennifer Dearman and her husband Chad of Haslet, TX; seven grandchildren, Christena, Madeline, Cassie, Abigail, Alex, Makayla, and Chris; and twelve siblings. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2019 at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving.

The funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Plymouth Park Baptist Church, 1714 North Story Road in Irving. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway in Dallas 75211.
