Ronald L. Ketner Ronald L. Ketner, 83, of Geneseo, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Good Samaritan in Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 30, at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo Chapel. Reverend Bruce Bergthold will officiate.

Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Visitation will take place from 10:00-11:00 a.m., prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the First Congregational Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Ron was born on May 6, 1935, the son of Elmer and Mildred (Rogers) Schoondyke, in Moline, Illinois. He was a graduate of the United Township High School. Ron married Suzanne E. Merchie on May 6, 1979, in Las Vegas NV.

He was employed as an expeditor with International Harvester Works/Case IH for over 30 years and later retired from the company. Ron enjoyed traveling, reading, and listening to big band music. He loved watching sports, especially his favorite Chicago teams, the Bears and the Cubs!

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Suzanne, daughters, Robin (David) Masterson, of Bolingbrook, IL, and Rhonda Lovdahl, of Galesburg, IL, step-daughters, Cindy Fullerton, of Muscatine, IA, and Deborah (Don) Elshoff, Malta, IL, five grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and nine step-great-granchildren. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Mildred, brother, Gary Schoondyke, sister, Rosemary Shaw, a step-daughter, and three step-grandchildren.
