Ronald Raymond Johnston (Paps), age 75, passed away from cancer related illness in his home with his dear wife present on May 15, 2019 in Gilmer, TX. He is survived by his wife of 54 years. Cesear Mae Johnston; brother Ken Johnston; sister Zoetta Paxman; eight children; Christine Smith, Mitzi Hancock, Geni Tua, Heidi Facer, Ronnie Johnston, John Johnston, Shane Johnston, Shawn Johnston; along with 30 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard John Johnston and Anna Steere Johnston; and his brother, Wes Johnston. Ronald was born November 29, 1943 in Junction City, Kansas. He served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at the Barksdale base located in Shreveport, LA.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the primary, teacher development, athletic programs, young men’s among other callings. He cherished his service as an ordinance worker in the Ogden and Dallas temples. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, May 25, 2019, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 1122 Pine Street, Gilmer, TX 75644.

A public viewing will be held from 9:00 am until 10:00 am. prior to the service. Interment will be held at Kelsey Cemetery following the service.
