Ronald G. “Ron” Davis, 71, passed away on September 23, 2018. He was born on December 26, 1946 to Grady James and Emily Jones Davis. Ron owned and operated Ronco Home Improvements and was a member of Words of Life Tabernacle.

Ron fought a courageous battle after undergoing a double lung transplant in November of 1999. He surpassed all the doctors’ expectations, which is a true testament to Ron’s strength, determination and faith. Ron wrote a book, titled Living In A Cloud of Smoke, which chronicled his journey through the transplant.

He also recorded two music CD’s “Walking in His Glory” and “Led by the Master”. Ron is preceded in death by his father and two brothers James “Jimmy” and Ray Davis. In addition to his mother, Ron leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Shawnee Beighley Davis of Arden, NC; children, Leslie Davis Rickman of Asheville, NC; Ronald Geoffory “Geoff” (Sharon) Davis of Fletcher, NC; grandsons, Andrew Davis of Candler, NC; Chase Rickman of Cullowhee, NC; siblings, Grady Julian (Marcie) Davis of Fletcher, NC; Dianne (Tom) McClure of Sylva, NC; Karen (Earl) Combs of Ft.

Walton Beach, FL; In-Laws, Lisa Millin, Poncho (Jill) Showers, Johanna (Scott) Everson, Jean McNeil, nephews, Justin Showers, Brody McNeil and great-nephew, Paxtyn Showers. He also leaves behind a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews that will deeply miss him. Services will be held on Thursday October 4, 2018 at Word of Life Tabernacle 815 Glenn Bridge Road.

Visitation will be from 6:00PM-7:00PM, with Celebration Services beginning at 7:00PM. Officiating will be Pastor Carl Bishop, along with Pastors Wade and Gwen Hall and Pastors Lynden and Donna Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Words of Life Tabernacle, in Ron’s memory.
