Ronald W. Morris Sr. 61, of Littleton, NH passed away peacefully on March 13. He had a long fight with MS and heart disease, and then a short battle with lung cancer that took him too quickly. He spent his final moments at home with his wife of 40 years, as he wished.
Born in Salem, MA on April 21, 1957, Ron was the son of Ralph and Gloria Morris. He was raised in Marblehead, MA with his two sisters. Growing up Ron enjoyed deep sea fishing, being a mischief causing jokester and spending his time with his cousins Kevin and Ken(deceased) Dixey.
During adulthood Ron supported his family of five by working as a private security guard for Wells Fargo and other agencies. He also served as a part time police officer for the Marblehead MA Police Department. Although Ron experienced multiple near death scares he was always upbeat and resilient.
Ron and Colette moved their family from Massachusetts to New Hampshire, working their way north until they landed in Lisbon, NH. Living in the North Country afforded Ron the pleasure of riding around on the back-roads looking for critters. He spent many afternoons rolling around Main Street with his dog in search of a good conversation.
Ron had the ability to make light of any situation life threw at him. He was a well liked family man who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was easy going, and spent his time with his children and grandchildren.
He was known to always have a coffee in hand and a cowboy hat on his head. He remained optimistic and giving through his entire life. Ron is survived by his sisters Gail (Morris) and her husband Dan Chalifour of Dover, NH and Nancy (Morris) and her husband Dan Conrad of South Berwick, ME.
He leaves behind his wife, Collete (Smith) Morris whom he married on September 8, 1979. He leaves behind five adult children and their families, Amanda (Morris) and her husband Gregory Benson of Winooski, VT, Stacey (Morris) and her husband Barry Benson of Bristol, VT, Ronald “RJ” Morris and Shannon Howland of Littleton, NH, Brian Morris and long time partner Leanne Tellier of Littleton, NH, and Samantha Morris and Fiance Jackson Catalano. His legacy will live on in his Grandchildren Dylan, Kyler, Katelyn, Zachary, Cole, Breeah, Parker and his newest little love Alexander.
Extreme gratitude to all the staff at North Country Home Health and Hospice, Littleton Regional Hospital and all local first responders. A special thanks to Captain Tyler and Officer Audit of the Littleton Police Department. A celebration of life will be held at The Eagles Club in Bethlehem, NH on April 6, 2019 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. All are welcome!
Expressions of sympathy can be sent to Colette Morris at 47 Jackson Street Littleton, NH 03561.
