Ronald “Zeke”‘s Obituary Richmond Twp. - Ronald J. “Zeke” Mattila age 76 Richmond Township resident passed away Sunday February 17, 2019 at UP Health System Marquette. Ronald was born January 20, 1943 at home in Humboldt Township to William A. and Helvi (Lakanen) Mattila.

He graduated from Republic High School and served his country in the U.S. Army. Zeke worked for Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company for 30 years retiring from the Empire Mine as a kiln operator. Zeke enjoyed reading and spending time in the outdoors.

Zeke is survived by 2 brothers: Eli (Shirlee) Mattila of Silverdale, WA and Fred (Judy) Mattila of Champion, a sister Martha Hill of Hancock along with 41 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Susan and 14 siblings. Honoring Zeke’s wishes there will be no public services.
