Rose Simmons, September 11, 1935 — February 09, 2019

Rose M. Simmons, age 83, of Painesville passed away quietly on Feb. 9, 2019. Born Aug.

11, 1935 in Waggy, WV to Harry and Gladys (nee: Long) Jackson, she had been a longtime area resident. Rose worked as a cook at various fast food restaurants. She was never wanting and always giving, as she felt you couldn’t take it with you.

Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her children Joseph (Lynn) Jackson, Terry (Denise) Simmons, Timothy Simmons and Peggy Sue Simmons, all of Painesville; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hayward Simmons, son Hayward Jr., and siblings Hazel, Anna Belle, Perry and Mildred.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Sat. Feb. 16, 2019 at the Potti & Marc F. Burr Funeral Homes of Painesville, 1009 Mentor Ave.
