OBITUARY Rosie Viola Meyer November 22, 1914 – September 23, 2018 Rosie Violoa (Janca) Meyer, 103, of Shiner, Texas passed away on Sunday, September 23rd, 2018 at Shiner Nursing & Rehab in Shiner, Texas. Funeral Services are under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner, Texas and will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 10:00 am at Buffington Funeral Home with Deacon Joe Machacek officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 5:00 until 9:00 pm at Buffington Funeral Home.

Rosie was born in Shiner, Texas to Andrew and Mary (Hubka) Janca on November 22, 1914. She lived in Shiner, TX her whole life. She married Emil V. Meyer on November 6th, 1933 at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas.

Rosie loved visiting with her family, playing bingo and listening to polka music. In the days when she lived on the Meyer homestead she enjoyed singing Christmas carols on Christmas eve with the family, gardening, canning, making chess pies, selling eggs, taking care of the chickens and making noodles. Then to mix things up she made FRESH homemade chicken noodle soup.

Rosie and Emil were quite the dancers and seemed to float across the floor to their favorite polkas and waltzes. Rosie leaves behind her daughter Dorothy Morisak; Grandchildren – Dianne Tucker (Robert), Cynthia Justus (Shane), and Cheryl Wawarosky (Jimmy); Gary Morisak (Darlene) and Kenny Morisak (Patti); Great grandchildren Bryan Morisak (Tiffany), Justin Morisak (Lesli), Ashley Little (Jake), Kevin Bourke, Rose Vasquez (Alex), Nicole Wawarosky, Carrie Wawarosky and Tyler Brooks; Great-great grandchildren, Austin Morisak, Kaylee Morisak, Kendall Morisak, Charlie Morisak, Kameron Bourke, Jackson and Jordyn Grace Little; Numerous nieces and nephews. Rosie was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Mary Janca, sisters – Evelyn Ehler, Ella Krause, Lilly Stanek, Edith Motal, Mary Ann Siegel, Hattie Meyer, husband Emil Meyer and son in law Jerry Morisak.
