OBITUARY Roy Alvin Cain February 25, 1943 – September 5, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Roy Alvin Cain, 75, (resident of Palm City, FL) formerly of Kingsport, TN entered into eternal rest peacefully during the early morning hours of Wednesday (September 5, 2018) at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Roy was born on February 25, 1943 in Kingsport, TN to the late Dolvin Cain & Reana (Bates) Cassell. Roy was the retired owner of Cain & Co. Construction.

He attended Mt. Vernon Methodist Church. Roy unselfishly served his country in the United States Army in the early 1960s.

Roy was a loving husband, father, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend; he will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by step-mother, Marie S. Cain; one sister, Mildred Cain McCarten; and one great-nephew. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 48 years, Mattie Freeman Cain; one son, Rob A. Cain & wife Mary Burdine; grandson, Austin P. Cain & wife Sara; two great-grandsons; sister, Rita Markland & husband Butler; nephew, Jessie Eremity & wife Renee; two great-nephews; and a host of friends.

The family will greet guests and share memories on Tuesday (September 11, 2018) from 5 to 8 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home at 8 pm with Pastor Richard Fleming officiating. Roy will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Community Cemetery (approx… 11618 DC Caney Ridge Road Coeburn, VA 24230) on Wednesday (September 12, 2018) at 12:30 pm.

Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to meet at East Lawn Funeral Home at 11 am to travel in procession. Serving as pallbearers will be Dale Gilliam, Austin Cain, Steve Bates, Danny Bates, Junior Pope, and Jessie Eremity. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Huckbee and Paul Bates.
