Obituary for Roy Andrew Wagner, MSgt, USAF (Retired) Roy Andrew Wagner, MSgt, USAF (Retired), recently of Royse City, TX, passed away April 8, 2018, at the age of 63. He was born October 6, 1954, in Amityville, NY, to Kenneth and Lea Wagner. Roy joined the United States Air Force at the age of 17 and served his country proudly.

He was stationed in Shemya, AK; Taegu, Korea; and numerous places stateside. A veteran of Operation Desert Storm and Operation Desert Shield, Roy retired after 22 years of service from Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, AL. He recently moved to Royse City after 30 years in Alabama, and was a member of Life Chapel Assembly of God in Rockwall where he was instrumental in establishing multiple church campuses.

Roy was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed anything outdoors. He loved woodworking and adored making children’s toys. Family was most important to Roy and he cherished spending time with his grandchildren.

Roy is survived by his loving wife of 38 years: Sally Wagner of Royse City; son: Matt Wagner and wife Dawn of Plano, TX; daughter: Kristina (Wagner) Swenson and husband Graham of Ft. Leonardwood, MO; sister: Ellen (Wagner) Freni of Long Island, NY; brother: Ken Wagner of Lakeworth, FL; and grandchildren: Cade Wagner, age 11, McKenzey Wagner, age 8, Bella Swenson, age 6, and Paisley Swenson, age 2; along with a host of loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Kenneth Wagner, Lea Rizzi and Rosemary “Mom” Ellis; and sister: Donna (Wagner) Bregartner.

Funeral services will be held 11:30am Monday, April 16, 2018, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Location. Graveside services will follow at 2:00pm at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy. , Dallas, 75211.

A gathering for family and friends will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:30am.
