Roy Lee Jenkins February 24, 1928 – December 11, 2017 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Roy Lee “Shine” Jenkins, age 89 of Loudon, passed away Monday, Dec. 11, 2017. Roy was born to the late Tom and Annabell (Evans) Jenkins in Loudon County, Tennessee.

He served his country in the US Navy as a young man and later served in the US Coast Guard Reserve. He retired from Union Carbide/Viskase Corporation following 32 years of service and held a 65-year membership card from the IBEW Local 760, Knoxville. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lora, Gilbert and Robert Jenkins; sisters, Frances Keener, Gertrue Grefseng, Gladys Kerley and an infant sister.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Eleanor (Willett) Jenkins, Loudon; daughters and son-in-law, Deborah Lynn Giles, Loudon, Karen Elizabeth and Tim Reynolds, Lenoir City; grandchildren, Matthew Giles, Los Angeles, CA and Tracy Brown, Knoxville; great grandchildren, Jerrica and Jazmine; siblings, Buddy Jenkins, Nell Lambert and Shirley Rissinger. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the excellent love and care they received from the staff at The Lantern at Morning Pointe. Services honoring and remembering Roy Jenkins will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, Dec.

12th, McGill-Karnes Chapel with Rev. Walt Simmerman officiating. Interment to follow in Loudon County Memorial Gardens.

Contributions in Roy’s memory may be made to the Loudon County Humane Society, P.O. Box 602, Lenoir City, TN 37771. The family will receive friends 2:00 – 3:00 PM Tuesday prior to the service at McGill-Karnes Funeral Home, 406 Wharf St. Loudon. www.
