Royal D. (Roy) Dearing was born to Vernon and Evelyn Dearing in Snyder, TX on April 11, 1940 and passed away May 2, 2019 at his son’s home in Carlsbad, NM. Roy retired from Waste Isolation Pilot Plant. Prior to that he worked at various mines.

Roy and his family were also Caretakers of Tres Rios Christian Growth Center (Black River Village) and he was owner/operator of Pecos Valley Carpets. He also served his country in the U.S. Army. Roy married Mary (Louise) Boyd on May 10, 1961 shortly after his discharge from the Army.

They lived in various states for a few years before settling in Carlsbad, NM. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting as well as yard work and gardening. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Roy is preceded in death by the Love of His Life, Louise Dearing; his parents, Vernon and Evelyn; two brothers: Jerry of Seattle, Curtis of Dallas and his sister, Bobby of El Paso; two sons: Nick and Bryant and one granddaughter, Brandy. He is survived by his daughter LaDonna from TX; two sons: Tracy and wife Nell, and Roy Lee and wife, Mary Ann from Carlsbad; three grandsons: Johnathon and wife, Jana, Charles and wife, Nakia, of Carlsbad, and John Thomas and wife, Mindy of TX; one granddaughter, Desirey of Carlsbad; two great granddaughters: Kambryn and Adeline; his brother, Tommie and wife, Karen, and many nieces and nephews.
