Ruben “Bill”‘s Obituary Ruben “Bill” Braeutigam Birch Run/Frankenmuth, MI Went to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Covenant Cooper; age 87 years. Bill was born on February 25, 1932 in Birch Run, MI to the late August and Anna (Block) Braeutigam. He was married to Marion Rittmueller on June 20, 1953, at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, she survives him.

Bill was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. He was a full-time farmer for 62 years. Bill worked at various places during his lifetime, Star of the West, Fred Block/Arnold Rogner Oil, and most recent The City of Frankenmuth.

He was a member of the original Marv Herzog Polka Band, as a drummer. Bill enjoyed spending time in his woods preparing firewood, deer hunting with his sons, grandsons and brother on his northern hunting property. He also enjoyed playing euchre with family and friends and cherished visits from his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family gatherings were very important to him, that brought his son’s and all of their families together for great food and to share his easy-going laughter that united the family. Surviving besides his wife Marion of 65 years are: 3 sons; Kenneth “Benny” (Sandy) Braeutigam of Saginaw MI. , Randy (Marie) Braeutigam of Birch Run, MI.

, Arnie (Debbie) Braeutigam of Midland, MI. , 7 grandchildren; Mathew (Alicia) Braeutigam, Trina (Adrian) Huffman, Tom (Justine) Braeutigam, Kari (Ray) Daenzer, Brad (Jen) Braeutigam, Kristen (Andy) Opperman, Jill (Dan) Zeddies, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way, 1 brother; Dr. Harold “Gus” (Jeanne) Braeutigam, brother and sisters-in-law; Franklin Rittmueller, Irma Rittmueller, Eunice (John) Drew and many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by brothers and sisters; Caroline (Herbert) Palmreuter, Norman (Esther) Braeutigam, Milda (Alvin) Block, Fred (Milda) Braeutigam, Lorine (Lawrence) Pagels, sisters and brothers-in-law; Marilyn Braeutigam, Walter (Arlene) Rittmueller, Gilbert Rittmueller and Ruth Rittmueller.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. and 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. Reverend Mark Brandt will officiate with burial between services in St. Lorenz Lutheran Cemetery. Bill’s family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the prayer service.
