Ruby’s Obituary Ruby Veronica James (formerly, Ruby Veronica Eccles Wong), age 75 passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018. Ms. James was born in Trinidad and Tobago, a twin island in the southernmost nation of the West Indies on July 1, 1943. Ruby received her primary education in Trinidad and Tobago, and received additional education following her arrival to the United States.

Ruby was a loving, caring and sharing mother, sister, friend and neighbor. This was evident in the many friendships, which she maintained across her life. Ruby found some of her dearest friends and extended family at the Richmond Hill Senior Center where she spent many hours participating in social engagements and their recreational activities, which included day trips, health and wellness classes and their famed senior proms.

Ruby was a firm believer in staying active and enjoying the company of her friends and loved ones. Ruby was an exemplar cook and shared her culinary gifts with her children – with one working within the restaurant industry and the other as a celebrated celebrity chef. Ruby was preceded in death by her loving son Michael Joseph Edwards, and her devoted husband Clevus V. James.

She is survived by her sister Violet, and children, Natasha Jennifer Wong and Kenneth Ellis James; her extended sons and daughters Gina Edwards, April James, Curtis James, Denise McConnell and Janice Legros and grandchildren Akesha, Brittney, Chadwick, Clint, Delicia, Garvin, Indigo, Michael, Shawn and Sherwin, and a host of friends. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home, located at 8901 Ford Avenue Richmond Hill, Georgia.
