Ossipee, NH Russell F. Whiting Jr., 73, of Ossipee, NH passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at his home with his family by his side. Russell was born August 26, 1945 in Wolfeboro, NH the son of the Late Russell F. Whiting Sr. and Helen (Eldridge) Whiting and had attended local schools. Having lived in Ossipee all of his life, Russell began working as a truck driver for Evans Construction in Tamworth, NH and later worked for the Town of Ossipee, Highway Department as a truck driver for 28 years.

In his earlier years he also served as a part-time Police Officer for the Ossipee Police Department and was a member of the Ossipee Corner Fire Department for 5 years. He loved the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting and fishing and also loved going “North Bound” to spend time at his camp in Pittsburg, NH. Russell is survived by his wife of 53 years, Birdie (Evans) Whiting, Ossipee, NH and their children Kelly Whiting, Wolfeboro, NH and Kevin Whiting and his wife Jody, Lancaster, NH.

He also leaves behind his loving grandchildren Jason Stout, Myles Stout, Marissa Murphy, Christopher Murphy, Patrick Murphy, Shawn Whiting and Jayme Whiting. His brothers Robert Whiting, Ossipee, NH Steven Whiting, Florida, Richard Whiting, Center Ossipee, NH and a sister Mary Thurston, Wakefield, NH. He was predeceased by a sister Linda Seguin.

Calling hours will be Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Lord Funeral Home, 50 Moultonville Road, Center Ossipee, NH, from 5-7pm. Burial will be in the Reed Cemetery, Wonalancet, NH at a later date.
