Ruth Evelyn Pelley Mather , 72 died on Tuesday April 24, 2018 after a long illness. Ruth was born November 25, 1945 and was a life-long resident of Ashtabula. Ruth is a 1963 graduate of Ashtabula High School and attended Kent State University.

She was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was employed by Carlisle-Allen Co. For many years. Ruth is survived by her Son Brian of Ashtabula and a brother Charles (Mary Jo) of Pasadena, MD.

. Also surviving are Step-children Bart, Bradley (Michelle),Gregory, Scott Mather; and Susan(Eric) Smith of Ashtabula. Surviving Step-grandchildren are Lillian and Bradley Mather; Isabella, Penelope, and Sebastian Callaway; and Abby, Emma, McKenzie, and Olivia Smith.

Ruth is also survived by Nephews Charles (Holly) and Timothy Pelley of Pasadena, Maryland and their children. She was preceded in death by her Husband George, Parents Eva and Melvin Pelley, Stepfather Dean Wesson, and Infant brother Melvin Charles Pelley Jr. . Ruth was a long time member of First Christian Church, and became a Member of Perry United Methodist Church in recent years.

Calling hours will be held at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 526 W. Prospect Rd. , Ashtabula on Thursday April 26, 2018, from 6 to 8 PM. The Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday April 27, 2018 at the Perry United Methodist Church 3875 Main Street Perry, Ohio 44081with Pastor James Jensen officiating.

Burial will be in Austinburg Center Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to the Perry United Methodist Church or to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave. Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
