Obituary for Ruth M. Eckert Ruth M. Eckert, 88, of Naples, FL, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018. Formerly of Belford, NJ, she had been a Naples resident since 1987. She was born April 23, 1929 in Belford, the daughter of Benjamin and Evelyn (née Euler) Morris.

Ruth graduated from Leonardo High School in Middletown, NJ and was a member of the marching band. She had a lifetime career with NJ Bell Atlantic Telephone Company and retired after 38 years of service. She was a talented artist and flower designer.

Retiring to Florida, she and her husband Raymond were avid boaters and enjoyed bowling with the Moose Lodge. She also became a manicurist. She was actively involved in her community of Bay Forest serving on the social committee.

She was active in her church community of St. Leo the Great and St. John the Evangelist. Mrs. Eckert was the heart of her family. She shared her love with the love of her life, Raymond, her husband of 65 years, her daughters, granddaughter and extended family, not to forget those furry four-legged friends.

Her devotion to her faith and her loving and helpful ways will be deeply missed. Mrs. Eckert is survived by her three loving daughters, Roxanne R. (Jay) Newman of Bonita Springs, FL, Renee K. Eckert (Kenneth) of Maui, HI and Rae L. (Doug) Eckert-Stewart of Bonita Springs, FL; her sister, Joan (the late Michael) Reo of Tinton Falls, NJ; one cherished granddaughter, Kristen (Ralph) Kuehl of Portland, OR; brother-in-law, Robert (Alice) Eckert Sr. of Toms River, NJ; and her cousin, Wil (the late Grant) Bullock of Bonita Springs, FL. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond E. Eckert in 2014.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail South, Bonita Springs. Burial will take place in New Jersey at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the local Humane Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
