Ruth’s Obituary Ruth Elaine Cyganek, 92, Green Bay, passed away, Saturday, December 15, 2018. She was born on July 11, 1926, in Milwaukee to Joseph and Elizabeth (Meronek) Soike. After graduating high school, Ruth moved to New York to pursue her career as a pattern maker and seamstress.

There she met her husband who was also from Milwaukee. Throughout her life she enjoyed ballet, ice skating, performing in plays with her best friend and sister Mary, gardening, painting her husband’s carvings, and needlework. While raising her family she enjoyed fishing and camping, and was active in her church and community.

Ruth is survived by two children, Louis Cyganek and Carol (David) Rusch; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) Burke, Paul (Melissa) Cyganek, John Cyganek, Chad (Andria) Rusch, Sarah (Joe) Danes, Amy (Trent) Schelkopf; 13 great-grandchildren, Keegan, Gavin, Cadence, Alaina, Owen, Brody, Beckham, Sawyer, Nicholas, Madilyn, Zander, Blake, and Daniel; siblings, Mary (Joe) Bauer, Cathy (Larry) Baravetti, Esther Soike, and Delores Soike; brothers-in-law, Robert (Barbara) Cyganek and Tom (Gwen) Cyganek; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents; and her siblings, Angeline Soike, George Soike, Stanley Soike, Florence (Al) Wolski, Sylvia Bayer, and Lorraine (Dick) Kaczmarek. Visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave.

from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Bergstadt officiating. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.
