Obituary for Ruth Zimmerman Ruth Julia Zimmerman, age 98, of Romulus, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at her home. Ruth was born March 31, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Arno Ortmann and Clara (Boisson) Ortmann.

Ruth was a very active member of Heritage Church of God where she taught Sunday school. She was also the owner of Joy Pet Shop, in Detroit in 1960 through 1970. To cherish her memory she leaves two children; Donald Zimmerman and Nancy Zimmerman, loving aunt of ten nieces and nephews, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; Arno and Clara Ortmann, her husband; Frank “Lee” Zimmerman, son; Frank Zimmerman III, beloved sister; Pearl Trout, and brother in law; Paul “Dizzy” Trout. Friends may gather from 1:00pm to 7:00pm on, Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Crane Funeral Home, 36885 Goddard Rd. Romulus, Michigan 48174, (734) 941-9200.

The funeral service will take place on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Heritage Church of God in Taylor (time to be determined), with Pastor Darius Walden officiating.
