Ms. Ruth Lynn Howell 61, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019. She was born June 2, 1957 in Forsyth County, to the late Carl and Nelda Howell. Ms. Howell was a graduate of West Forsyth High School.

She worked for the Winston-Salem Journal with thirty-five years of dedicated service in customer service and accounts receivable. Ms. Howell played on a women’s softball team for several years. She sold several home party plans and enjoyed traveling to the beach, painting, and crafting.

Preceding her in death are her parents. Surviving are a sister, Rachel Baker (Andy), two nieces: Angie Strader (Matt) and Beth Paulin (Jon), a nephew, David Stanley, three great-nieces, a great-nephew, a uncle, Gilbert Sheets (Virginia), and a aunt, Betty Belfon. A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Monday, March 25, 2019, at Boyer’s Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery, officiated by Dennis Connor.

The family will receive friends 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
