Mrs. Marie Holt Smith, 82, of Winston-Salem passed away Friday March 15, 2019 at Accordius Health at Clemmons. She was born April 19, 1936 in Winston-Salem, the daughter of the late, Burlie and Lera Orander Holt . She was a CNA and did private duty nursing for a number of years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jimmy Ray Brown, Jr.; two brothers, Virgil Thomas Holt, Sr. and Dewey Lee Holt; and two sisters, Ruby Holt Skinner and Helen Holt Wilbanks. Survivors include three sons, Billy Pitts, Jr., Jimmy Brown, Sr. (Tammy) and Tommy Brown all of Winston-Salem; one daughter, Tammy Pegram (Todd) of Lewisville; nine grandchildren, Alyson Stonebraker (Bryan), Stefanie Stark, Jonathan “Jon Boy” Brown, Joseph “BoBo” Brown, Dustin Robertson (Melissa), Jessica Champney, Sandy White(Calvin), Nicholas Brill, and Ashleigh Brill; twelve great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her doggies, Little Dale, Cassie, Maw Maw and Pep Pep.

Mrs. Smith’s family would like to say a special thanks for all the love and care shown to her by the Hospice Team who took care of her. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Ronnie Comer officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Community Home Care & Hospice, 1308 Davie Ave.
