Ms. Barbara Diane Foster 70, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019. She was born December 29, 1948 in Guilford County, to the late Melvin Garland Foster and Betty Johnson Foster. Ms. Foster was a member of Beck’s Baptist Church, where she was the pianist for the Children’s Choir.

She graduated from Appalachian State University and then went on to work for Brendles in Roanoke, VA, where she was a manager, she then moved back to Winston-Salem to be the manager for Brendles until their closing. Following her nineteen years at Brendles, she taught school in Forsyth County for twenty years, until she retired. Ms. Foster enjoyed going on Gospel cruises and going to the beach.

Preceding her in death are her parents. Surviving her are two brothers, Thomas Foster and wife Sandy of Archdale and Ron Foster and wife Debby of Jamestown, two sisters, Pat Solomon of Jamestown and Melva Nealeans and husband Drew of High Point, several nieces and nephews, and a very dear friend, Karen Robinson of Winston-Salem and her family: two daughters, Jenni Robinson of Asheville and Christy Mitchell of Winston-Salem, and four grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted in her honor 2:00 PM Monday, March 18, 2019, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, officiated by Dr. Karl Minor.

Interment will follow at Floral Gardens in High Point. The family will receive friends 12:45 PM – 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
