Obituary for Ruth Marguerite Carlisle Mrs. Ruth Marguerite (Wyn) Carlisle, age 94, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 of complications after a fall at her home, at which proudly still resided. She was married August 26, 1944 to James L. Carlisle, a retired Muskegon Township Fire Chief, who preceded her in death on April 24, 1989. Ruth had one sister Harriet (Arnold) Bartels; sons-in-law, Dave Richards, Fredrick Kaiser and former son-in-law, Thomas LeMieux, Sr. who preceded her in death.

Her survivors include one brother, John (Yvonne) Wyn of Muskegon; four Daughters Sandra K. (Dale C.) Carr of Fruitport; Karen Richards of Wayland; Nancy Kaiser of Grand Haven and Judy Lynn (Ron) Carlisle of Norton Shores; Grandchildren, Charles (Deborah) Richards of Wayland; Fredrick Kaiser, Jr. of Grand Haven; Thomas (Karen) LeMieux of Kissimmee, FL; many great grandchildren and 2 Great great Grandchildren. Ruth worked for General Telephone when phones still had wires that were literally plugged into the switchboard, and later as a homemaker and support person for her fire fighter husband and four daughters. She was active in the Orchard View fund raising events, and work diligently to help procure Orchard View’s own High School.

Ruth was a diehard O.V. Cardinal, as well as, an avid Detroit Tiger’s Fan. Ruth enjoyed travel and bravely went all the way to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, of course that wasn’t the highlight of her trip. The best part of her trip was buying a new pair of shoes that were created at one of the local artisan shops on the streets of Paris.

FUNERAL SERVICES will be 12 noon Monday, July 9, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be Sunday, from 6-8 PM and 1 hour prior to the service on Monday, from 11AM-12PM.

Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions to Hope Reformed Church will be appreciated. Share memories with the family online at www.
