Ruth Mary DeLay Choquette breathed her last earthly breath at 7:05, January 18, 2019, with her family cuddled up with her on her bed, ushering her into the arms of Jesus. It gave us great joy to realize that not only was she being reunited with her loved ones that had gone before her, but she would meet her mother for the first time (Ruth was 2 years old when she died). Ruth was born on February 16, 1929 to Earle R DeLay and Leah Pearl Griffith.

The youngest of 7, is survived by only one of her siblings, Elizabeth DeLay Bennett of Encino California. Ruth was married to Henry T Choquette Jr “Hank”, died July, 1985, and had 3 children, Richard T Choquette of Tucson AZ, Janine Choquette Fredell of Castle rock CO, and Martin Choquette of Parker CO. And 5 grandchildren, Michelle, Amber, Jesse, Rachel, and Jason.

The Lord blessed Ruth with a fantastic life, she had a family, loved to speak, won trophies in Toast Mistress, a University of Colorado masters in Communication, taught in Denver Public Schools for 15 years. Retired then started a new career as foreign expert. She taught/coached graduate students in Beijing China for 7 years then served as a communications coach for discipleship training at the YWAM University of the Nations, Kona Hawaii, 7 years.

For her last 7 years, she shared a home with her daughter Janine and husband Matt, spending her time playing bridge, enjoying family events, and being loved and cared for by Janine and grandson Jesse until it was time to lay her in the arms of Jesus. Ruth’s love of life was her participation in a Christian spiritual enrichment ministry with the Camp Farthest Out (CFO) family camp where she led music, creatives, and served on the international leadership team. Ruth met and developed life-long friends from all over the world.

Ruth’s passion for life was her desire to impact others, to help young people express themselves through writing, speech, and connecting with Jesus. Her love, joy, and HUMOR was contagious and loved by all. “You’re funny grandma!
