OBITUARY Ruth W. Marcus October 17, 1927 – November 3, 2018 MARCUS – Ruth Wishengrad, on 11/3/2018 Ruth’s spirited thirst for life and learning will be our fondest memory. Her 91st birthday was celebrated with family just days before her passing, and included laughter, music and fun – and special visit by her beloved sister, Blanche and husband, Irwin from Los Angeles. Ruth and her husband, Marty raised their family in Mamaroneck, NY where she could frequently be found with her tennis doubles partners.

Her love of music included a lifetime playing and teaching piano, Stamford Symphony concerts and the Metropolitan Opera. A collector of fine crafts, Ruth served as Chair of Crafts on Stage (SUNY Purchase). A voracious reader, she found herself at home in her early days in Stamford participating on the Board of the Ferguson Library.

Ruth is predeceased by the love her life, husband Marty, survived by daughter, Dianne Marcus (Philip Shaner) Weston, CT, son, Jonathan (Cheryl) Andover, MA; and adored grandchildren, Jared, Caroline and Zachary. Services will be held at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, CT, Wednesday, November 7 at Noon. Shiva at 320 Strawberry Hill Ave.

, #53, Thursday, November 8, 11am-3 pm and 5-7pm. Donations in Ruth’s memory can be made to Ferguson Library, Stamford.
