Carol Jean Lapegna, 74, a longtime Stamford resident, entered into eternal rest on Saturday January 19, 2019 at Stamford Hospital. She was one of the three children of the late Fred and Mary (Sole) Lapegna of Riverside. Carol was a 1962 graduate of St. Mary’s High School.

Her professional career began at the Electrolux Corporation in Old Greenwich. She then went to Lord & Taylor working up to manager of the furniture dept. at the NYC store.

Changing careers, she joined Pitman Properties as a realtor, and finally as an administrative assistant for American Wholesalers before retiring. Carol loved animals, having had several during her lifetime. She loved celebrating holidays with family, and travelling, including her occasional trip to the casino.

Carol will be remembered for being a caring and loving soul. She will also be remembered for her infectious laugh. She would start to tell you a joke but laugh so hard, you might not hear the punchline.

She was known for her thoughtful gifts, never forgetting to commemorate family birthdays, especially those of her nieces and nephews with a rousing birthday song rendition. Carol is survived by her sisters Maryann (Frank DeLuca) and Linda (Bruce Nishball); two nieces, Joan and Janet, a nephew, Gary, and four grand nieces and nephews. Loved deeply by her family and friends, she will be greatly missed.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena, Riverside, at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019. Burial will take place at a later date. The family have entrusted final arrangements to Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, in Stamford.
