Edward A. Cook, 89, lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away on Thursday October 11, 2018. He was born on March 7, 1929 to the late Herbert J. and Grace (Devonshire) Cook. After graduating from Stamford High School in 1947 he enlisted in the Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict.

He returned home after serving and became a Stamford Police Officer in 1957, retiring in 1995 from the Detective Bureau. Edward was instrumental in creating the annual Stamford Retired Police picnic. He was also served as President of the Internal Order of Eagles and was a member of many other organizations.

Edward made a lasting impact on all the lives he touched and will remain in our hearts forever. Edward is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Isabella M. Cook; six children, Bonnie L. Leary (Neal) of Venice, FL; Edward A. Cook Jr. (Susie) of Norwalk, CT: Gary S. Cook (Deborah) of Windsor, CT; Julianne S. Cook of Alta Vista, VA; Ian P. Cook of Stamford, CT and Lynda J. Sessa (Michael) of Tampa, FL, ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Donald W. Cook; and two grandchildren, Gary Cook and Robyn Cook.

Calling hours will be held at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 5pm to 7pm. A private memorial service will begin at 6:30pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Stamford Police Association, 805 Bedford Street, Stamford, CT 06901 or online at www.
