Raymond F. Gentile, Sr. passed away on October 6, 2018 surrounded by his family following a brief but brave battle with cancer. He was born on June 25, 1938 in Greenwich, CT and was a longtime resident of Stamford, CT. He graduated from Stamford High School and served in the U.S. Army.

He worked for many years as a self-employed carpenter. Raymond was an avid golfer who spent countless hours on the golf course perfecting his game. He enjoyed cooking and was always in the kitchen trying out new recipes.

Raymond was the beloved father to seven children and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; Felice Gentile and Michelina Chieffo Gentile, his spouse; Louise Fazio, his two brothers; Ralph and Maurice Gentile, and two sons; Raymond Gentile, Jr. and James Gentile. He is survived by his brother; Anthony Gentile, his sister; Loretta Gentile, his daughters; Cynthia Gentile, Bonnie Gentile (Ryan Zygmont), Laura Gentile Frattaroli (David), and Christine Gentile (Ray Perez), his son; Philip Gentile, and grandchildren; Sydney Kelly, Christian Frattaroli, Caden Frattaroli and Sierra Picard Ami, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may offer their sympathy and condolences to Raymond’s family on Saturday, November 3, 2018, from 1pm to 3pm, at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, in Stamford.
