Ruth M. Weber, 87, of Dubuque passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home on July 2nd, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 6th, 2018 at St. Catherine Catholic Church with Father Rodney Allers officiating and Deacon Loras Weber as homilist. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Family and Friends may gather for the visitation at St. Catherine Church, 5213 St. Catherine Road from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 5th, 2018. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road is in charge of arrangements. Ruth was born on September 20th, 1930 in Sherrill, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Anna (Schueller) Nauman.

She was united in marriage to Lester A. Weber on November 28th, 1951 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Sherrill. Ruth worked most recently at Mercy Hospital in the kitchen for 15 years where she baked and cooked. Ruth and Lester lived on their farm since 1955 and went to the farmers market regularly for 29 years.

She enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing and crocheting, as well as gardening. Faith was very important to Ruth. She was a member of St. Catherine’s Parish for over 60 years.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who is survived by her loving husband, Lester and her children Francis (Vicki) Weber, Jeanette (Steve) Talbert, Carol (Dennis) Powers, Barb (Dana) Brandt, Roger (Rachel) Weber, Dennis (Mary Kay) Weber, and Julie (Paul) Hayes; her grandchildren Amy, Keith, Eric, Christopher, Heather, Brian, Andrew, Jeremy, Chad, Zachary, Nicole, Emily, Matthew, Brandon, Abby, Kelsey and Emma; 27 great-grandchildren; siblings Marie Dupont, Doris (Nicky) Wolf, Harold (MaDonna) Nauman, and Bernice (Paul) Ehrlich; and brothers-in-law Milton (Luann) Weber and Marvin (Ardella) Weber. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Gene; two infant sons; her sisters Lorraine Weber and Rita Kintzle; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Norb Dupont, Vernon Weber, Earl Kintzle, Delores (Lawrence) Maro, Ray (Mary) Weber, Neil (Rosie) Weber; and her mother and father-in-law Nicholas and Margaret Weber. The family of Ruth would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque, especially Edna and Jennie, as well as her Caretakers Phyllis and Melissa.

The family requests no flowers. A Ruth M. Weber Memorial Fund has been established.
