Obituary for Sam Camp Graveside services for Sam Camp, age 84 of Lindale, Texas, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Lindale City Cemetery under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale with Gary Camp and Pastor Tom Buck officiating. Sam passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 at his home in Lindale. He was born June 6, 1933 in Cartwright, Texas to the late Edgar McGarrity and Eva (Richardson) Camp.

Sam was in both the United States Marines and Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He lived 16 years in Garland, Texas before moving to Lindale in 1973 where he became a member of the First United Methodist Church and was the owner of the Western Auto store from 1973 to 1992. He enjoyed gardening, camping, and volunteering for the Forestry service during travels.

Sam is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Camp of Lindale; children, Gary Camp and wife Susan of Lindale, Larry Camp and wife Gwen of Lindale, and Cindy Simmons and husband Mark of Flint; Brother, Hoyt Camp and wife Marie of Quitman; grandchildren, Jennifer Meier, Jessica Camp, Casey Camp, Brooke Moore, Blair Camp, Bailey Camp, Jonathon Simmons, and Luke Simmons; 4 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
