Obituary for Mike Hanifin Funeral Services for Mike Hanifin, age 78 of Tyler, TX, are scheduled for 10:30 am Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale, TX with Pastor Johnathan Ellison officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home. Mike went to be with the Lord on Father’s Day Sunday, June 17, 2018 in Tyler, TX, where he was surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born December 11, 1939 in Stockton, CA to the late John and Lois (Britt) Hanifin. Mike was raised in Carnegie, OK and later resided in Tyler, TX for most of his adult life where he was a member of Crosspointe Community Church. After 25 years of service, he retired from Roadway Express Freight Company as Operations Manager.

Mike was always a true cowboy at heart with a sincere passion for his horses and cattle which he dearly loved right up until his last days. He is preceded in death by his son, Kevin Hanifin. Mike is survived by a wife of 42 years, Joyce Hanifin of Tyler, TX; Children, Kristy Hanifin Ross and Dan Comeau of Longview, TX, Tonya Gibson Hanifin of Hallsville, TX, Kim Hanifin Howard and Travis Martin of Haltom City, Keith Ridgeway and wife, Julie of Hawkins, TX, and son Keith Hamilton of Troup, TX; Grandchildren, John Michael Ross and Wife Lauren, Colton Ridgeway and wife Rea, Justin Ridgeway, Ashlea Gibson Charlson and Husband Luke, Brody Gibson and wife Shelby; Great grandchildren, Kylee, McKenzie, Noah, Nolan, Nash, Madelyn, and expecting Avery in July; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will include Justin Ridgeway, John Michael Ross, Brody Gibson, Luke Charlson, Larry Blalock, Calvin Cannon, Ennis Bynum, and Rodney Barbee. Honorary pallbearers will be, Jerry Tustison, Cary Medlock, Ted Clemons, Mark Anderson, Max Anderson, and Raymond Odom. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
