Obituary for C. Dylan Peterson Graveside services for C. Dylan Peterson, age 32, of Wills Point, Texas are scheduled for 9:00 A.M. Monday, July 23, 2018 in the Myrtle Springs Cemetery in Wills Point with Rev. David Herndon officiating. Services are under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas.

Dylan died Tuesday, July 17, 2018 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on October 12, 1985 in St. George, Utah to Kevin Ray Peterson and Julie Anne Phillips. Dylan is survived by his loving wife, Katelynn Peterson of Wills Point, Texas; children, Seraph Faith Peterson, Ana Rose Peterson and soon to be born, Baby Girl Peterson; parents, Julie Phillips of Westcliffe, Colorado and Kevin Peterson of Logandale, Nevada; brother, Daniel Brady Peterson of Carrollton, Texas; sisters, Kyle Rae Walker of Carrollton, Texas and Taylor Jo Iverson of Rockwall, Texas; best friend and brother, Larry Hughes of Long Island, New York; and many other treasured family members and friends.

Dylan was a man of faith and integrity. He embraced the love of Christ and shared it with everyone around him. He had a magnetic personality that attracted countless people to be near him and love him.

He never failed to return that love with sincerity and grace. Dylan was a Marine helicopter crew chief. He served his country for five years and fought alongside his brothers in Iraq.

He heroically protected our soldiers from his helicopter as they would be transported into combat zones throughout the theater. Dylan’s wife and children adore him. The gentleness and love he exhibited toward them provided comfort and safety and warmth every day.

He personified what it means to be faithful to God and Family. It wasn’t a chore or burden for Dylan, it was his simply his nature. While we cannot know why the Lord took Dylan now, we know that he and Katelynn experienced pure joy during the time God had them together.
