Obituary for Diane Henry Services for Diane Henry, age 66, of Hideaway, Texas are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home chapel in Lindale with Rev. Marion Burgess officiating. Interment will follow in the Carmel Cemetery with services under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.

Diane died Saturday, April 28, 2018 in a Tyler nursing center. She was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on May 18, 1951 to Donald Arthur and Ethel Margaret (Bennett) Henry and was a longtime resident of Lindale/Hideaway.

After high school, Diane received a scholarship in music to the University of Georgetown as she was a prodigy on violin. She played with the Civic Center Orchestras in both Houston, Texas and Los Angeles, California. During her time living in Los Angeles, Diane worked as an executive in the insurance industry.

Upon her move to Lindale and Hideaway, she attended Tyler Junior College earning her degree in nursing as an LVN. She worked for East Texas Medical Center along with several other area nursing facilities in Smith County. Diane loved caring for people, whatever their needs might have been.

She enjoyed traveling and meeting new people, but her greatest love was that of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Diane enjoyed sharing her talent of playing the violin and singing in the Swan-Wood Springs United Methodist Church choir where she was a member. Diane would sometimes lead the church choir when needed and taught the children in Sunday school.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Henry and sister, Donna Griffin. Diane is survived by her longtime companion, George F. Hall of Lindale, Texas; father, Don Henry of Cleburne, Texas; nephews, Michael Griffin of Glen Rose, Texas and Zachary Griffin of Conroe, Texas; and niece, Devin Bauer of Yulee, Florida. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
