Lucy died Sunday, May 13, 2018 in a Ft. Worth, Texas hospital. She was born in Westerville, Ohio on August 4, 2009 to Edward Blair and Theresa Sue (Gehring) Heller.

Lucy was a member of the Grace Community Church, Lindale Campus where she was loved by all. (Lucy’s life was nothing short of a miracle. From shortly after birth, when it was discovered that Lucy had a severe form of epilepsy, she began an 8 year fight that would inspire all of those that she met.

The challenges came swiftly as it was discovered that she had multiple medical conditions that would all continue to deteriorate over time. Lucy had multiple major surgeries that resulted in great pain, casting that lasted months and years of physical, occupational and speech therapies. Lucy fought, struggled and persevered through trials that most people without disabilities would not be able to handle.

She did it all by God’s grace and strength that came from Him alone. Lucy was a light to all that knew her and her wonderful smile. She was everything that a little girl should be – bright-eyed, funny, stubborn, happy and above all, a princess.

She loved her Disney Princess toys and books, Princess music and especially, her Princess movies. All of these things were taken with her wherever she went, including baseball games, football games, walks to see Jesus, Disney World, a Disney Cruise and many, many hospital visits and doctors appointments. Even as her health tried to slow her down, Lucy kept fighting.

She was able to travel back to Disney World to help complete her Bucket List, that was made possible by the wonderful community of friends, family, colleagues and even complete strangers. Lucy finally lost her earthly fight but gained a Heavenly home. She will be sorely missed by all who had a chance to know her.

She will be especially missed by her family until we meet again. We love you, Lucy. ) Lucy is survived by her loving and dedicated parents, Ed & Teri Heller of Lindale, Texas; brothers, Specialist Dakota Heller of Lindale, Texas, Conner Heller of Lindale, Texas and Ethan Heller of Lindale, Texas; grandparents, Roger & Kathleen Wayts of Ohio, Nanci Heller of Ohio; aunts and uncles, Richard Heller of Round Rock, Texas, Anne Lothes of Ohio, Katie & Jeremy Brown of Ohio and Rick & Megan Gehring of Ohio; and a host of other family members and dear friends.
