Obituary for Nan Fleming Hoover Nannie (Nan) Fleming Hoover, 102, passed away peacefully at The Family Vision House in Flower Mound, Texas on June 30, 2018, surrounded by family. Nan was born on March 6, 1916 in Lindale, Texas. She grew up in Lindale.

She was the daughter of Cecil and Mae Yarbrough. She married Ira Fleming in 1936 and was preceded in death by Ira in 1979. She later remarried and was preceded in death by her husband; Prince Scott and husband; William (Bill) Hoover and daughters; Sylvia Phillips and Carolyn Speer.

Nan leaves behind a sister, Mary Ethel Lowry of Starville, TX; Son, Morris Fleming and wife, Jeanine of Lantana, TX; Grandchildren, Lometa Vaughn, Carrollton, TX; Melissa Phillips, Taos, NM; Joe Fleming and wife Lydia, Midland, TX; Darla Fleming Miller and husband, Richard, Midland, TX; Great-grandchildren Andra Speer, Carrollton, TX; Amy Fleming Miller and husband, Brett; Danny Fleming, Midland, TX; Will Fleming and wife, Meghan, Midland, TX; Forrest Jordan, Tyler, TX; Ben Jordan, Tyler, TX; two Great-Great granddaughters, McKenzie and Ellie, Midland, TX and several nieces and nephews. Nan was honored in 2010 at Lindale High School Homecoming as the oldest living student from the class of 1933. She attended Texas Women’s University in Denton, TX.

She taught school during World War II. She also went to Beauty School and worked for Ruth Voyles at her shop in Lindale and later opened her own shop in her home in Lindale. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Lindale until 2012 when she moved to Assisted Living in Flower Mound, TX.

She also was a former teacher of the Lucy Bradshaw Sunday School Class. She also volunteered at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. A Memorial Service will be held at Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Tharell Boulware, Ardent Hospice Chaplain officiating.

Nan’s family thanks the doctors, nurses, attendants and staff who cared for her from Amity Hospice. A special thanks to her caregiver at The Family Vision House, Jeanne Mukabera, and the owners, Richard and Odette Bilolo for the special care and love that they gave to Nan during the three years she was there.
