Obituary for Normia Shaver-Benson Funeral Services for Normia Shaver-Benson, age 74 of Tyler, Texas are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale, Texas with Bro. Rick Gray officiating. Interment will follow at the Lindale City Cemetery under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home.

Normia passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 in Tyler, Texas. She was born on December 22, 1943 in Grapeland, Texas to the late McKinley Sam and Sallie L. (Fulmer) Shaver. Normia spent her entire life in Smith County, Texas where she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin T. Benson; sister, Sue Kirk; and brothers, Johnnie Mack and Zelotis Shaver. Normia is survived by her children, Duwayne Benson and wife, Angie of Chandler, Texas, Laura Laughlin and husband, Jerry of Tyler, Texas, David Benson and wife, Julie of Lindale, Texas, and Lana Arteaga and husband, Abel of Tyler, Texas; sister, Marjorie Smith of Mulberry, Arkansas and a brother, Gerald Shaver of Tyler, Texas; grandchildren, Jessica Benson-Glover of Roanoke, Virginia, Loren Benson of Roanoke, Virginia, Jacob Arteaga of Tyler, Texas, Hunter Benson of Lindale, Texas, Matthew Arteaga of Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, and Justin Laughlin of Tyler, Texas; 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will include, James Delling, Bertin Cornelio, Richard Cagle, Billy Smith, Bobby Smith, Johnny Brown, Abel Arteaga, and Jacob Arteaga.

The family would like to express a very special thanks to the caring staff of Renal Ventures-Davita of Tyler, Texas. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 218 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas.
