Obituary for Sandy Coffindaffer Sandy Coffindaffer, age 64, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born May 29, 1954, in Ulysses, Kansas, the daughter of Gerald Douglas and Arlene Joyce (Kiistner) McGillivray. Sandy grew up in Ulysses and graduated in 1972 from Ulysses High School.

She was a cook at USD 214, and also worked different jobs in the community. Sandy married Hardy Coffindaffer on September 2, 1972, in Ulysses. She enjoyed drawing, cooking and baking.

She loved listening to Aerosmith. Sandy’s grandkids were everything to her and she enjoyed every moment they had together. Sandy is survived by her husband Hardy of the home; sons, Chad Douglas Coffindaffer and wife Karen of Beeville, Texas, and Beau Coffindaffer and wife Hailey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brothers, William McGillivray and wife Katherine of Lawrence, Kelly McGillivray and wife Mary Ann of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Steve McGillivray of Overland Park; and six grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Britt Nicole Coffindaffer; and sister, Shelly Thrailkill. Visitation will be Friday, January 18, 2019, from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. A private family service will be held and interment will be at Ulysses Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
