Block, Sarah Ann, 83, of Louisville passed away peacefully at her residence on March 10, 2019. She was born June, 24, 1935 in Worthville, KY to the late Leslie and Mary Ann Perry Beck. Sarah was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church where she was a Eurcharistic Minister.

She was a secretary at Good Samaritan, a member of the 55 Alive Club. She loved to read, work puzzles, and sewing. She loved and was devoted to spending time and taking care of her children and grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sons, John A. (Sherry) Block; Ted (Ellie) Block; Paul (Tammy) Block; her daughters, Barbara Turner; Ann Marie (John Spencer) Gilbert; ten grandchildren, Kristen; Josh; Zach; John Thomas; Danielle; Daniel; Kameron; Nathan; Austin; and Aaron. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren and her sister Catherine Shinkel.

Funeral services for Sarah will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2019 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, 9608 Sue Helen Drive, Louisville, KY with burial to follow at St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m., Thursday, March 14th , at Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville. Expressions of sympathy may be made in memory of Sarah to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or American Lung Association.
