Obituary for Sarah Elizabeth Sutherland Cardwell Sarah “Beth” Elizabeth Sutherland Cardwell, 46, of Charlotte, went home with Jesus on Sunday, December 16, 2018 with her family by her side. Beth is survived by her beloved husband Thomas Edward Cardwell and children Samantha “Sam” and Jackson, parents, Art and Ilvie Sutherland, brothers, Ren Sutherland and his wife Kimberly, Sean Sutherland and his wife Bobbie, mother-in-law Wanda Warner, and nephews, Grey , Nic, and Blake and their spouses and children. She is also survived many cousins, and by many of Tom’s family, extended family, and friends as well.

Beth enjoyed spending as much time as she could swimming with Tom, Sam and Jackson, especially at Myrtle Beach where they vacationed frequently. She also was an accomplished two-time Blackbelt in Karate, and instructed children at the Thorton School of Karate in Greensboro, NC. Beth earned a Bachelor of Science Degree at Montreat College, Montreat, North Carolina, an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education at University of North Carolina in Greensboro, and attended Guilford Technical Community College for Accounting.

Beth also was first to volunteer her time in anything involved with her church, her children and their school, and the community they were at part of. Beth was loved dearly by everyone who knew her and will be missed greatly. A service to celebrate Beth and the life she lived, will be Saturday, December 29, 2018, 2 pm, at Joy Christian Fellowship Church, 1516 Idlewild Road, Matthews, NC 28105 with a reception of family and friends to follow there after.
