Saltville, VA Saundra Lynne Wassum was born in Marion, VA on July 29, 1943. She passed away peacefully after a prolonged illness on June 13, 2018. Saundra was a life-long member of the First Church of God in Allison’s Gap.

She worked at the Mountain Community Action Program in Marion. She was preceded in death by her father Lynn (Bus) Wassum and her mother India Haynes Wassum both of Saltville. She was also preceded in death by her brother Charles I. Wassum of Salem, Virginia.

… Read More » She is survived by her brothers David W Wassum (Marie) of Sugar Grove, VA, Richard L Wassum (Eleanor) of Rich Valley, VA and Edward J Wassum (Becky) of Welcome, NC. She is survived by eight nephews and nieces, and several dear cousins as well as grand nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends at the First Church of God at 12 noon Saturday with the service at 1 PM.

Interment will follow at the Wassum Family Cemetery in Atkins, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Memory of Saundra Wassum to the Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center: WWRC Foundation, PO Box 1500,W-191, Fishersville, VA 22939.
