Former longtime Wilbraham resident Scott H. Willson, 82, died peacefully at his current home in Enfield, CT on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 following a long illness. Born in Hartford, CT, he was son of the late Sumner L. Willson and Dorothy Scott (Willson) Pack. He was a graduate of Wilbraham Academy, earning Bachelor of Science and Master’s of Education degrees from Springfield College.

He worked at Springfield College for twenty one years as Senior Vice President and as a Development Officer at Amherst College for 17 years. An avid sports participant, he excelled in soccer, baseball, tennis, and platform tennis. He was also an enthusiastic fan of his children and grandchildren’s athletic careers as well as a loyal supporter of Amherst College athletics.

Scott was a longtime member of the Field Club of Longmeadow and Longmeadow Country Club. He is survived by his wife Donna Daly (McCartney) Willson, children Meredith Balise (Thomas) of Wilbraham, Timothy Scott Willson (Jamie) of Scottsdale, AZ, Jacqueline W. Kenny (Timothy) of Wilbraham and Jennifer L. Willson (Brian Grayboff) of Longmeadow. He is also survived by step-children, Kara M. Eagan (William) of Longmeadow and Michael L. McCartney (Elizabeth) of East Sandwich, MA, along with his former wife Nancy B. Willson of Enfield, CT, 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his sister Meredith Gleason. Funeral Service for Scott will be private, held at the convenience of the family. A celebration of Scott’s very special life will be held in the spring.

He will live forever in the hearts of his family and many incredible friends. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Scott H. Willson may be made to Wilbraham and Monson Academy, Office of Advancement, 423 Main Street, Wilbraham, MA 01095 or to Friends of Amherst Athletics, Amherst College Athletic Department, 220 South Pleasant St., Amherst, MA 01002.
