On May 6, 2018, Joseph “Jay” H. Jones passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. Devoted husband of 12 years to Geri L. Jones (nee Golden); caring step-father of Michael Richards; loving brother of John, Grace Ann, Nancy, and Alan; cherished step-grandfather of Randy Richards and Baby Michael Richards. Jay was predeceased by his parents John and Henrietta Jones and his son Michael Jones.

Jay proudly served his country as a member of the Unites States Marines. He worked as a steamfitter for the University of Maryland before retiring. Jay was a very active member of the American Legion and the VFW.

He also belonged to the Marine Corps League. An avid football fan, Jay enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys as well as NASCAR. He also enjoyed working in the yard and reading a good book.
