Shanet’s Obituary Shanet Kay Shouse, age 70, of Cottondale, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Allan Shouse; sons, Derrick Allen Shouse and Matthew Ian Shouse; parents, Sarah Tina Mae Manor, William Paul Parmley, Jack Loyall Manor; grandparents, Lillie Mae Hames, Eldredge Hames, William Stafford, and Arvella Stafford. Survivors include her daughter, Melinda Mae White; sister, Paula Patricia Parmley Gentry; grandchildren, Nathan Michael Ross, Jordan Cheyenne Hobson, Matthew Ryan Shouse, Elaine White, Brandon White, and Alex White.

Shanet was a fierce loving woman who only knew one man. Following the loss of her husband and sons, she remained with her daughter as long as she could. A true life partner, she carried his weaknesses as he carried hers.

She gave all that she had to give and more and did so with loving hands when asked with a loving heart. There never was a stranger to her. Anybody who met her knew her love was given without any expectation of anything in return.

Shanet lived in 48 states during her life, with Alabama becoming her home for over 30 years. As her weight and strength diminished, her spirit did not. We would like to thank Oasis Hospice for the care provided, especially Joshua Shirley, R.N., Case Manager.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on February 23, 2019 at Bee Branch, 9600 Bee Branch Rd, Cottondale, AL 35453. In lieu of flowers B.Y.O.B.
