Obituary for Sharon Baumgardner Graveside services and interment for Sharon Dale Baumgardner, age 70, of Cookeville, will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday September 26 at the James Bohannon Cemetery in the Poplar Grove Community. Bro. Kelly Stockton will officiate.

The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the cemetery. Sharon passed away Monday evening September 24, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born March 25, 1948 in Chattanooga, TN to the late Benny Joe Baumgardner and Edna Cleo Hunter Baumgardner Henson of Cookeville.

Sharon was born one month premature, and the doctors were not sure she would survive. Sharon surprised everyone by not only surviving but thriving. She was very intelligent, and completed high school as a straight A student.

She had an additional 2 years of business college in Southern California. Sharon worked many years for Rockwell International before moving to Tennessee to be close to her relatives. After moving to Tennessee, Sharon worked for Upper Cumberland Development District, until an injury eventually caused her to quit work.

Sharron and her mother remained very close as Sharon assisted with home care, doctors’ appointments, and grocery shopping. Sharon is survived by her mother Edna Henson. “She was my life-giver, and I want everyone to know how special she was”.
