Sharon passed away on Dec. 18th, 2018 after a short fierce battle with Bladder cancer in Jacksonville, Florida at the Hospice Hadlow Center for Caring. Sharon was born as Sharon McKee on December 17th, 1944, to Harold and Ida McKee in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

We will remember Sharon’s kindness to all, wit and courageous heart, strengthened by the convictions of loyalty, grace and wisdom. Sharon graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor’s in Science and as the President of the Phi Mu Sorority on campus. From there Sharon went on to work at Rohm and Haas Corporation in Philadelphia, PA where she met the love of her life, Michael Ellis.

After leaving Rohm and Haas, Sharon joined Malandro Communication in Scottsdale, AZ. There she served in many capacities: Vice President, General Manager and Director of Client Relations. In 2012 with the help of her adoring husband Mike, dear friends, and colleagues, Sharon founded the nonprofit charity True Blue: Navy Families Benefactors, Inc. Sharon had been Chairman of the Board and more importantly a kind inspiration and determined leader who devoted herself to True Blue’s mission every day since.

She has gifted her family and friends with intangible riches beyond measure. Sharon was an accomplished equestrian and she loved to play golf. Sharon is predeceased by her father, Harold “Jim” McKee and mother, Ida McKee.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Ellis; brother, Jim McKee (Harriet); brother-in-law, Tom Ellis (Suzanne); nieces and nephews, Brian McKee, Michele Davis, Chris Ellis, John Ellis, Brian Ellis; and many other loving relatives. Anyone who wishes to, may make a memorial donation to the benevolent society of True Blue: Navy Families Benefactors or the American Cancer Society. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 5th in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, with Reverend William Kelly as Celebrant, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:30 a.m. at the Sawgrass Beach Club, in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.
