On Wednesday November 21, 2018 Sharon Huerta passed away at her home in Morgan, Utah surrounded by her family after having a long battle with kidney disease. Sharon was born on April 20, 1937 to Grant and Afton Haws in Ogden, Utah. She grew up in Syracuse, Utah and was raised by her grandparents Charles and Laura Workman, as well as her Aunt Thelma and Uncle Rex Pace.

On January 15, 1955 Sharon was married to Robert Huerta in Porterville, Utah. Early in her courtship with Bob, Sharon came to know and love Wesley and Janet Gransden whom she grew to know as her second parents because of the love they showed to her and Bob. Throughout her life, Sharon shared a love for sports, gardening, service to others and her family.

Within each she found great joy. As an avid sports fan, she attended countless high school football games supporting her two boys and later her grandsons. She was an avid fan of the BYU football team and the Utah Jazz.

She was often the most vocal fan in attendance and displayed hopes of her voice being heard through the TV screen when viewing from home. Year after year she kept gardens packed with beautiful flowers and endless supplies of late summer fresh produce. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She enjoyed serving others and shared her favorite callings as Relief Society Secretary with Ardath Peterson and teaching primary. Family was perhaps Sharon’s greatest joy in life. She especially enjoyed visits from her grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by her husband Bob, her three children, Denise (Mark) Kleinfield of Layton Utah, Mark (Pam) Huerta of Morgan Utah, and Scott Huerta of Morgan Utah, She was also blessed with seven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Sharon will be forever missed by them all. The family would like to thank Visiting Angels and Encompass for her excellent care.
