Sharon’s Obituary Sharon Lee (Haefner) Balzer originally from McPherson, KS and having lived in Thornton, CO; Mesa, AZ; and most recently Fort Collins, CO passed away March 3, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents Norman and Clarice (Unruh) Haefner of McPherson, KS. She is survived by her daughter, Stacey (Balzer) Cochran and granddaughters Chaney and Carly Cochran of Arvada, CO; her sister and brother-in-law Carol and Tim Weiser of York Springs, PA; her niece Tanis Yoakum of Shrewsbury, PA; and many more extended family members and friends.

After graduating from McPherson High School, Sharon worked for AT&T phone company for 31 years. She started in McPherson, KS in 1968, transferred to Hutchinson, KS and then later to Denver, CO in 1984. In 1994 she transferred to Mesa, AZ where she retired in 1999 and lived until early 2018.

She moved back to Colorado last year to be closer to her daughter and granddaughters. Sharon was an avid reader and enjoyed word puzzles and playing Bingo and cards with friends. Sharon is most remembered for her kind and loving heart as well as her “spunk” and positive disposition through her health challenges.

Memorial service will be planned for a future date in McPherson, KS.
