Sharon Jilek, age 65, of Rochester and formerly of Cannon Falls, died Sunday, March 17, 2019 at her home. Sharon Marie Jilek was born on March 4, 2019 in St. Paul, the daughter of Lowell and Francis (Tyrrell) Lorenson. She grew up in Cannon Falls, graduating from Cannon Falls High School in 1972.

Following high school Sharon attended Rochester Community College. She worked various jobs over the next few years, including as a waitress, and at Security State Bank. She was employed for many years at Midwest of Cannon Falls.

On September 8, 1995, she was united in marriage to Gary Jilek in Red Wing. Sharon was a member of St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church. She did volunteer work for several organizations including Paws and Claws and the Ronald McDonald House.

She enjoyed crocheting, making things for her church and other charities. She also liked playing the piano. She especially liked attending her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s events.

Blessed be her memory. Survivors include her husband Gary, children Sheryl (Jeff) Stellrecht, Kevin (Angie Wheeler) Hoffman, and Chris (Taisha Claugherty-Nelson) Jilek; grandchildren Spencer (Karli), Quentin (Alyssa Weiler), Michaela, Alexandra, Isabella, and Isaiah; great-grandchildren Vivian, Beckham, and one on the way; brother Lyle (Dawn) Lorenson; and nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be Friday, March 22, 2019 from 4-7:00 pm, at the Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009. Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 11:00 am, at St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church, 7459 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009. There will also be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will be in the Cannon Falls Cemetery. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
