Obituary for Sharon Louise Thompson Tapp Sharon Louise Thompson Tapp 1941 – 2018 Our beloved wife, mother grandmother, and great-grandmother, Sharon Tapp graduated to her Heavenly home on November 5, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She passed away after a valiant battle with Melanoma. Born August 1, 1941 in Murray, Utah, to Marvin H. and Roberta Mullins Thompson.
She was the oldest of four and was wonderful big sister and example to her siblings. Sharon attended Murray High School, in Murray, Utah. She married Verl R. Tapp on June 27, 1959, marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple on October 11, 1963.
Together they started and ran Midvalley Glass and she also owned a janitorial business for many years. She was very civic minded and worked along with a few others to annex a large portion of Salt Lake Co. into Midvale City. She was very instrumental in the development of Tapp Lane Subdivision.
Sharon was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings in her church throughout the years. She loved the Savior and believed in His Atonement. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her sweetheart of 59 years, Verl R Tapp, Midvale, her five children, Rod Tapp (Debbie) Midvale, Rick Tapp (Brenda) Midvale, Cindy Winnett (Joe) WVC, Shelly Butler (Rex) Midvale, Jody Fullmer (Mike), Sandy; brothers, Larry and Jerry Thompson, sister, Terry Vannoy. She was a proud grandma of 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Sharon never missed a birthday be it for her children or their spouses, her grandchildren and all of the many greats as well.
She made sure that everyone felt special. They have loving memories of her. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.
The last months and especially those last few weeks of her earthly life she was cared for by many angels. The nurses from Hospice who took care of her with such tender care. Her daughters who were by her side night and day taking care of her every need.
Also her granddaughters Ashley and Steph for being able to help with her care as well. A special thank you to her life-long bestie, Margaret Glover for knowing when she needed her and reaching out with a phone call to brighten her day and help her to forget her pain for a moment. Sharon appreciated all the many visits, phone calls, cards, flowers and gifts from her family and friends over the last months.
She was truly humbled and appreciated the great outpouring of love as did her family. “Grief never ends… But it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay.

Interment in the Murray Cemetery.
