SHERYLE NELSON-GIEREK Sheryle Nelson-Gierek has left this world for the Heavens on June 13, 2018. Sheryle Lynn Luther was born in Eureka on August 6, 1945, the second daughter to Mary Scalvini and Joseph Luther. She was raised in Ferndale and graduated from Ferndale High School in 1963.

After graduation she attended Frederick and Charles Beauty College and went on to buy the Henderson Center Beauty Salon. She worked at McGaraghan’s, Daly’s and Henderson Center Pharmacy. In 1966, she met her loving husband Gary Nelson on a blind date at the bowling alley.

They were married on June 26, 1966. Sheryle and Gary had three children: Eric, Rebecca and Heather. They made their home and raised their children in Eureka, where they lived happily together as a family until Gary’s untimely death in 1997.

Sheryle met Robert Gierek in 2000 after Heather set him up on a couch pickup out of town. Sheryle volunteered to join Bob. They were married in 2001.

They moved to Elk River where together they made a lovely home. They traveled on many adventures up and down the coast but not nearly enough. Sheryle made and gifted many quilts over the years and loved hearing from people; knowing they were enjoying and using them.

She liked to garden, especially the planting part! She loved music and singing. Everyone who knew and loved her had certainly heard her sing.

Many mornings our family would wake to the sound of the record player, often playing Dolly Parton, indicating that day would be especially wonderful. Sheryle is survived by and will be incredibly missed by so many: Her husband Bob Gierek. Her children and their spouses: Eric and Darla Nelson, Rebecca Law, and Heather and John Gierek.

She is also survived by the loves of her life, her grandchildren: Amber, Riley and Chloe Nelson, Kalei and husband Taylor Ray, Kaden Law, Lane and Lucas Gomes, and Elizabeth Catherin and Natalie Gierek. Each have many special memories of their grandma, and are blessed to have each other to share these stories and pass them along. Sheryle is survived by her sisters and their spouses: Joyce and Dave Miller, Cynthia and Pete Hansen, and Lisa and Joe Humphrey.

She is also survived by in-laws Rick and Elaine Gierek, and Tom and Penny Gierek. She will always be remembers as a fun Auntie by Yvonne, Andrea, Jay, Joel, Amanda, Evan, May Liz, Colt, and Cody. Sheryle loved her family so much, and has left them each with very special memories of her.

The family would like to thank the staff at Frye’s Care Home for the love and care she received. A Rosary and mass to celebrate Sheryle will be held at St. Joseph Church on June 27th at 1pm. Sheryle was a wonderful wife, mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She was loving, kind, vivacious, and beautiful in every way. She will be forever missed beyond words. We find solace in knowing she is reunited with beloved friends and family that preceded her in death, especially her husband Gary.

We will miss her dearly but know we will all be together again. And in her own words “I love you more”.
